The Jones Family
Our nightmare began Wednesday, October 8th, 2014. It started off as any usual day, Carter rode his bike to school with friends and I dropped the girls off at their schools and went to my second day of my new job.
Around 11 am we received the worst phone call a parent could get. I was told Carter's heart had stopped and he wasn't breathing. He had collapsed on the play ground during recess. The only reason Carter is still here is because of the fast acting staff at Shadowbriar Elementary. They recognized his distress and used the AED machine correctly and in time and were able to restart his heart. Again- this is the only reason he is still here.
Houston Fire Department #75 were the next miracle workers and were able to get him stable enough to transport to TX Children's in the medical center where he spent over a week in the ICU and another week on the cardiac care floor.
Carter was diagnosed with restrictive cardiomyopathy which does not have a good outcome. We have been told 2 years tops. Our only chance is a heart transplant. Please pray the board selects us, that insurance approves, and that we are able to get a donor in time. ~~~ The Jones Family.
Please keep the Jones Family in your prayers. Donations are being accepted to help with the needs of medical costs and everyday family needs. Please open your hearts to this beautiful family. You can contact Tiffany Jones with questions about donations at [email protected].
Thank you and God Bless.
